Pine Meadow Mutual Water is gearing up along with Armstrong Drilling to drill an exploritory well hole at the old Salt Box Well site. For those of you who do not know where Salt Box is, it is located approximately 300 yards to the East of Bobcat Springs. Salt Box well never produced much water when test pumped in the summer of ’09, so many experts in the well industry including geologists, well drillers and engineers done a study in the area of Salt Box and they think there is water there the old well just might have not been drilled deep enough. Pine Meadow Mutual Water Company came to the conclusion that we should drill a exploritory hole instead of a production hole. An exploritory hole is a smaller hole that is drilled to find out what kind of material is being drilled and water is air lifted to tell the gallons per minute that the well will produce. A production whole is drilled with a mud type system and is very hard to tell the gallons per minute and also cost thousands of dollars more.
By doing the exploritory hole it will save us thousands of dollars and will tell us if we can go back in later to turn it in to a production well. The exploritory hole will begin June 7 and will be drilled 24 hours a day for about seven days if all goes well. We are unsure of the noise level this will create until we begin the drilling. Some areas may be louder than others, but by doing the 24 hour drilling it will save the company thousands of dollars by doing so. Please try and be patient with the drilling and if you have any complaints please contact us by phone, email or by mail. Please try to stay away from the drill site due to safety standards. Thank you and please check back to the website for further information regarding this matter.

Two leaks have been called in and inspected by the water company who plans to fix the leaks as follows. The first leak that will be fixed will be the leak on Bullmoose Drive which is in a pressure reducing valve and will be repaired Monday morning (5-24-2010). This leak will be shut off first thing in the morning and will affect the Northern side of Bullmoose and the Southern side of Porcupine Loop. Crews will turn off the main line and drain it in order to do the repair in the PRV and then water will be turned back on. If all goes well water will be restored Monday night baring no problems. The second leak is located just above the intersection of Artist Point and Forest Meadow Road. This leak has plans to be repaired on Wednesday (5-26-2010) and will be shut down in the morning and drained so crews can repair the line. This will affect much of Forest Meadows Ranch so if your water is not on please be patient and crews will restore it as soon as possible. We would like to thank all of those who called in with concern regarding these leaks and would like to remind everyone if you see water running and you think it is a leak please contact us either by email or by phone. Thank you Water Management

All water is turned back on after crews found the leak in the A-Plat area. This leak was caused by a line breaking by a frost free yard hydrant and was undetectable due to all the snow we have received recently. The leak ran 300,000 gallons threw the meter and many man hours and it could have been prevented if the meter had been turned off. The water company is not responsible for turning meters off that is the lot owners responsibility. Please if you are not going to be at your cabin for a length of time shut your meters off, not in your cabin but at the meter. The manager of Pine Meadow Mutual Water would like to thank all of those who helped us search for the leak. In closing I would like to say one more time to please shut your meter off if you are not going to be there, next time this could be you. Please keep in mind not only does this cost you money, but also the water company due to the power it costs to pump the water. Even though we have found this leak please check your own to make sure you do not have a leak. Over time little leaks can costs thousands of dollars also.

There seems to be a leak on the ranch losing between 20 to 25 gallons per minute. This leak showed up on our history trends the weekend of March 27th and has been staying steady ever since. This leak is coming off of the 500k tank which includes the roads Pine Meadow Dr., I-Plat, A-Plat, Navajo Rd, Navajo Dr., Yellow Moon, Running Deer Circle, Tollgate Canyon, Pine Loop, Arapahoe Dr and all of Forest Meadows. We would really appreciate it if everybody could check their own meter or their property for a leak. If you dig up your meter please be sure to bury it again with snow to insulate it for the cold nights to come. Please keep in mind if this leak is going through your meter we want to find it as soon as possible so your bill does not get out of control. Crews have began to isolate roads and have had a difficult time in doing it due to the fact we are pumping more water than we are losing. Please contact us if you notice anything out of the ordinary this is a difficult time of year to locate a leak due to the run off we are getting with the snow melt. If you have been to your cabin recently and may have left something on that may have frozen please check it, remember all the snow around your cabin could have melted and caused something to freeze now that you dont have that insulation.
