For those without water service caused by the removal of the water tanks on Valley Vista, service should be restored by Augut 1st. Thanks for your patience.
The new water line install for Unita View is going very well. We are nearly half way and should have service restored by mid September. Just as any new line install, we are buring the lines deeper and with better materials. This takes time and as in the case of the Navajo Road install, we might run into obsticles that slow down the install.
We understand that this an inconvenience but this is necessary to provide the ranch with better service and reliable fire flow for emergencies. Please remember, these times are estimates.
If you live on Navajo Road or off of it you’ve probably notice the work currently underway. This project will be completed in phases. This update should give those of you affected by the project some estimation of restored service.
The top section of Navajo Road down past Navajo Drive is expected to be completed by the end of the week. That means lots above B8 & B36 including Navajo Drive will hopefull have water by August 5th. We say hopefull, because we can not predict the conditions we will run into. We have already encountered large amounts rock shelf and that slows the digging down termendously. The rock has to be jackhammered out by the trackhoe and then dug out. This can be very time consuming, but the lines must be buried a minimum of 6 feet.
The next phase is to complete the lines and connections on Navajo Road below B8 & B36 to the end of Deer Loop. Once again depending on digging conditons service should be restored by the end of August.
The third phase will continue down Navajo Road from Deer Loop to the end of Yellow Moon. Our goal is to restore service by the second week of September.
The forth and last phase will complete the remaining section of Navajo Road and down Running Deer Circle. Our goal is to complete this by the end of October.
We apologize for the inconvenience of the construction and lack of water service. We are making every effort to complete this project as quickly as we can, but we also want to make sure the lines and meters are installed correctly. Please remember, these times are estimates.
The Water Company will be turning the water off to most of the ranch to move two old existing tanks to a temporary location so they can be hooked back up to the system for normal operation. We will be turning the water off July 25th to most of the ranch. The construction crew has told me that it should not take more than 5 days to complete this reconnect. Area’s not affected by this are; Elk Road, Aspen View Dr., Chipmonk Way, Woodchuck Way and the upper part of Alexander Canyon.
The move must happen to make way for a new larger water storage tank in this old location so that in the event of a fire emergency in the future we will have sufficient water storage. As it is right now, the storage tanks can barely keep up with the current personal use let alone a situation that would require high flow, like a fire.
We are taking every precaution to expedite this move. Due to the timing on funding this new tank and the limited window of opportunity for construction this was the best option other than waiting until next spring or summer. The water board felt it was of the highest importance to have sufficient water storage.
Due to a leak on 6-30-06 at 7:00 p.m. the water was shut off and will remain shut off due to lack of joints and accessories. All pipe distributers were closed for the weekend and holiday, parts will be picked up on 7-5-06 and water will be restored. Thank you and we apoligize for the inconvience.
